Overview

Critical care medicine is a multidisciplinary medical field concerned with patients who have sustained or are at risk of sustaining acutely life-threatening single or multiple organ failure due to disease or injury. The intensive care unit (ICU) is a specially staffed and equipped section of the hospital for the management of life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions, with expertise and facilities for organ support (e.g., ventilators, multipara monitors, dialysis, etc.) by medical, nursing and other experienced staff. CCM involves the assessment, resuscitation and ongoing management of critically ill patients with life threatening single and multiple organ system failure.

The core components of clinical services of the specialty of Critical Care Medicine (CCM) revolves around life-support therapies under one roof to critically sick patients (medical, surgical and trauma etc.) who are admitted in the hospital area commonly named as General Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The trainee will gain experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute, serious, and life-threatening medical and surgical disorder The curriculum of three-year training in Critical Care Medicine deals with the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains covering treatment all sick patients. The trainees will be able to perform all procedures needed to take care of critically ill patients and will gain expertise in handling all equipments needed for the same We also have Exposure to inter-institutional collaborations across India. Access to one-of-its-kind cadaveric and simulation labs at the Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre to practice is the highlight of this institution. We provide State-of-the-art setup for super specialties and Exposure to all segments of society and various ailments through steady inflow to the hospital.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who are in possession of a recognised postgraduate medical degree (MD/DNB Anesthesiology, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Respiratory Medicine)

Fee Structure

Details of the fees payable for each Program will be notified well in advance before the commencement of the program. The fees, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances. The continuation of the course of the student in subsequent academic years is subject to payment of the prescribed fee for the program for each of those years.
