Greetings from the Ramaiah Campus!!!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the department, I extend a warm welcome to the fundamental world of Medicine - the Anatomy Department.
With upgraded infrastructure and well qualified teachers, the department is involved in imparting required knowledge and skills to undergraduate medical/ dental/ physiotherapy/ nursing /medical electronics and postgraduate students of anatomy and other departments. The faculty use innovative teaching learning and assessment methods to train the students through an active learning process.
The students are guided throughout the course and an active mentoring program allows the students to approach the mentors for academic issues and resolutions. The department conducts various competitions, quiz, role plays as an adjunct to regular teaching and learning activities. The students are encouraged to take up leadership and organizational roles by their involvement in organizing CMEs/Workshops/Abhinandana programs.
The department has demonstrated excellent performance consistently by obtaining good results with several distinctions and university ranks.
The faculty also drive student research on an annual basis and also publish their projects in various indexed journals.
The faculty in addition to academic activities contribute towards institutional activities as members in various committees - NAAC, Graduation Committee, UG Orientation committee, Students grievance committee, Cultural committee, International Days Commemoration Committee, Medical Education Unit, Advanced Learning center, etc.
The faculty also are open to communication by being approachable and student friendly. This humane attitude of the faculty has led to provision of financial aid to economically poor students. The faculty are always enthusiastic and keen to help students in all possible ways.
The vision of the department is to excel in training students leading to good results in terms of pass percentage, distinction and university ranks and thereby contribute to quality health care. The department aims to be updated with the advances in anatomy and innovative educational techniques. The department caters to the clinician and surgeon’s needs by providing a database of anatomical knowledge and developing mechanisms to make occult anatomy visible for easy comprehension.
