- An insight into eating habits and lifestyle with the help of a clinical psychologist with a view to making positive changes to attain long term goal of weight loss.
- Assessment by an Endocrinologist to look into other health issues such as control of Diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnoea etc. suggesting further tests as necessary and optimizing medication. Thyroid Disorders And Thyroid Cancer

The department provides a comprehensive range of services covering the diagnosis, investigation, and management of various disorders like short stature, delayed and precocious puberty. Also endrocrinopathies secondary to systemic disorders like Thalassemia and childhood cancer, Chromosomal and Genetic disorders like Turner, Prader Willi Syndrome, Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Adolescent PCOS, Disorders of Sex development (DSD) are managed here. The aim is to provide the best possible care for children, catering to their individual needs working closely with and counselling their families.
steoporosis and Metabolic bone diseases:
An exclusive clinic to screen for risk factors of poor bone health with a state of the art DEXA machine with the latest software to evaluate quality of bone in addition to mineral density like Trabecular Bone score and proximal hip geometry adds value to prevention of fractures. Because the severity of bone loss is different in every patient the department is involved in developing customized care plans. The department is also actively involved in the management of other metabolic bone diseases like Renal tubular acidosis, hypophosphetemic rickets, CKD-MBD and hyperparathyroidism.
Transgender medicine
Transgender people are those gender identity is different from the gender corresponding to the sex they were assigned at birth. Transgender people come from all walks of life , all ages, socioeconomic status and all part of the state. People realize that they are transgender at any age. They always ‘knew’ that they are not the kind of gender they were assigned at birth. This discrepancy between a person’s gender identity and that person’s sex assigned at birth is termed as ‘gender dysphoria’. A large pronounced discrimination is imposed on transgenders, due to which they are reluctant to seek health care services. To cater to the specific needs of Transgender people, The Department of Endocrinology has started Transgender Clinic.
