The Department strives to provide an intellectually stimulating environment for the students to learn, practice and do research in challenging field of Surgery.

The Department is extensively involved in teaching responsibilities and patient care. Along with the regular class room and bedside teaching Department also is involved in skill training at the advanced learning center. Under graduates are trained in various basic skills such as patient examination, suturing technique and common procedures with the help of simulation mannequin. Post graduates are trained in Laparoscopy and endoscopy in simulation lab and lap mentor.

• The Department also conducts live surgical workshops, CME, Conferences and live cadaveric workshops on regular basis.
• The department is actively involved in academic activities Surgical Society of Bangalore (SSBASICC) also at KSCASI annual conferences.
• The department along regular OPD service has dedicated Proctology, breast and diabetic foot clinics. And also provides advanced Laparoscopic surgery facilities.
