Welcome to the Department of Microbiology, M S Ramaiah Medical College.

Our department is home to multidisciplinary sections of microbiology. The research in the department focuses on areas related to infectious diseases mainly. We are a dedicated team comprising of 6 faculty members and 5 senior residents. We are particularly focused on teaching, diagnosis, research. Our staff members are enthusiastic and work hard to instill an interest in the subject to the young generation. Our focus is on teaching Microbiology to Undergraduate & Postgraduate students besides dental and paramedical students. Being a post graduate department, we offer post-graduation in the subject of medical microbiology (3yr course) to the students. Our faculty members are involved in Diagnostic services as a part of 24 hr laboratory in Ramaiah Medical College hospital.
