OPD Facilities
The department of Ophthalmology has OPDs on all weekdays from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and OPD strength per day is around 125-150. Our department provides a well-equipped facility for the complete examination, diagnosis and treatment of cataract, glaucoma, strabismus and amblyopia, ocular trauma, refractive disorders, cornea and external diseases, lacrimal drainage disorders, uveal diseases, and retinal disorders. The department handles all emergency cases round the clock and elective surgical procedures
Speciality Clinics
The expert team is comprised of a dedicated and well-qualified team of ophthalamic sub-specialities : oculoplasty, pediatric ophthalmology, cornea and external diseases, medical and surgical retina. Ramaiah eye bank: Member of EBAI (since 2008) Aligning with the National Program for eye donation and keratoplasty.
Minor/Major OT Procedure
At our facility, we perform, phaco cataract surgery, corneal surgeries glaucoma surgery,oculoplasty surgery, squint & paediatric surgeries, Vitreo-Retinal surgeries.
IP Facilities
We have a dedicated Ophthalmology ward with around 60 beds including isolation beds and we also have day care facilities
Outreach Activities
We Conduct and participate in eye & general health camps organised by the DBCS, Under 18 cricket team screening for Karnataka Cricket association Faculty assisted camp surgeries of Vivekananda Sevashram, School screening camp.
Teaching Facilities
We have a seminar room with digital facilities and library for UG and PG teaching, bed-side teaching programs and minor-OT for teaching procedural skills. PG students are also taught extensively in cataract surgery and other surgeries to be able to perform independently at the end of the course. Transdisciplinary Teaching - Physiotherapy,PGDM-IGNOU, Optometry.
Observership Programmes
Around 2-3 students per month from Ghent University, Belgium take part in the observership programme by the department of Ophthalmology.
