Pediatric surgery is a subspecialty of surgery involving the surgery of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. It includes neonatal surgery and fetal surgery.
- The department has daily outpatient services and follow-up clinics.
- The department works closely with paediatrics, neonatology, radiology, and oncology.
- A fully functional neonatal ICU and paediatric ICU are the main facilities available for critically ill children.
The common problems that are treated by a paediatric surgery team include-
- Hernia, hydroceles, undescended testis, Phimosis
- Congenital and developmental anomalies
- Infectious conditions
- Trauma and injuries
Complex surgeries in the various fields are performed viz..
- Neonatal surgery, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Thoracic surgery,
- Pediatric Oncosurgery, Pediatric Endoscopy (Cystoscopy, Bronchoscopy), Minimal Access
- Surgery including Pediatric Robotic surgery.
