Neuro Physiology Laboratory

The Department of Physiology has a well-equipped and active Neuro Physiology Laboratory which befits the teachings and research activities for Undergraduates, Postgraduates and PhD scholars, and for collaborative research.

Different Neuro Electrodiagnostic techniques are conducted in this Laboratory like- P300 for Neurocognitive testing, Evoked and Event related Potential Studies like Visual Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Evoked response Audiometry / Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, somatosensory evoked potentials, Nerve conduction studies, and electro myography.

The research done in the field of Neurophysiology has been published in different distinguished journals and presented in conferences. The Department has also conducted CME on “Electrodiagnostic Techniques in Neurophysiology and their Clinical Relevance” which was well received and appreciated by the delegates.

Collaborative research with various departments like Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology etc. have taken place which have received funding from prestigious organizations like including ICMR and RGUHS.

Autonomic function tests non-invasively evaluate the severity and distribution of autonomic failure. The Cardiac Autonomic Function tests are highly sensitive and specific in detecting subclinical dysautonomia, and are widely being used for research and diagnosis in different clinical scenarios.

The department conducted various research and educational activities like the CME on “Assessment of Autonomic Functions and its Clinical Relevance” which was received with much fervor amongst the audience.

Yoga Lab

The Department of Physiology has been conducting YOGA sessions in the dedicated Yoga Lab regularly for the undergraduates for overall health of mind and body. It also helps the students with stress management. These sessions are conducted by trained Yoga Instructors. Award winning and collaborative research in Yoga have been successfully conducted by the Department.

Computer Assisted Learning laboratory

is available for amphibian and mammalian experiments. This is beneficial for teaching and learning through simulated techniques for undergraduates and postgraduate students.
