Radiation therapy or radiotherapy is the term used to describe the actual treatment provided to the cancer patient by the radiation oncology team. Radiation therapy uses carefully targeted and regulated doses of high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells.

External Beam Radiotherapy
External Beam Radiotherapy also called as teletherapy is one of the main modalities of cancer treatment. The department is equipped with latest technology like 3DCRT, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT and SRS to deliver highly precise radiation to achieve of maximum tumor kill with sparing the normal tissue.


Brachytherapy
The Ramaiah Medical College radiation oncology department is recognised as centre of excellence by Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG for training the national and international faculties.
Catering to underprivileged
The institution is empanelled in major government health schemes like Ayushman Bharath, Arogya Karnataka, Yashaswini, YSR Arogya Shree, ESI, CGHS, ECHS and others by which even the underprivileged population can also get most sophisticated treatment both as IN patient and Out Patient.
Cancer Screening
The department conducts regular cancer screening camps in the community to detect cancer in early stage and reduce the morbidity and mortality.
