Dr. Anupama V Hegde has 26 years’ experience in field of Medicine with 15 years, experience in Cardiology. She is one among few lady cardiologists in Bengaluru and is presently working as Senior interventional Cardiologist and Associate Professor in this institution. She also has experience of working as diabetologist before she started her career as cardiologist. She is an astute clinician and passionate teacher and has trained many medical as well as nursing students. She is capable of performing emergency angioplasties in patients with heart attack as well as complex angioplasties. She has performed more than 10000 cardiac procedures including coronary angiograms, angioplasties right and left heart studies. She is trained in performing advanced echocardiograms. Her special interest lies in management of cardiac diseases in women and started the first of its kind in state “Healthy Heart Clinic For Women”. Her other fields of interest include management of pulmonary hypertension and cardiac problems in patients who have recovered from COVID-19 infection. She has vast experience in clinical as well as preventive cardiology. She has more than 15 publications in cardiology and has worked as co-investigator and principal investigator in various phase II and Phase III clinical trials. She is now involved in planning capacity building program at community level for recognition, referral and rehabilitation of patients with cardiac problem. She is an excellent leader and good team worker who has successfully organised various academic programmes, cardiology conferences and cultural event. She is easily approachable and has good rapport with her co-workers. Her main aim is to give good clinical and social service to the community.
