Dr. Dinesh Rajaram, M D, with two decades of experience, is currently working as an Associate Professor in the community Medicine, Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore. He has a strong academic and scientific background. He has distinguished himself as an excellent teacher and, researcher of high repute in the field of public health, epidemiology and research methods. His main research areas of interest are School health, Geriatrics, non-communicable diseases, Biomedical waste management and community mental health. He was honored “Best Researcher “by the International Journal for Research Under Literal Access title awards 2018 at the IJRULA-IDAMAS Malaysia inauguration ceremony at Trichy and has been awarded editorship also. He has to his credit funded projects as a co-investigator and Project officer from reputed International and National organizations such as UNIDO–GEF/GOI, ICMR and RGUHS. He was one of the co-investigator for the ICMR funded project “A study to evaluate the effect of an intervention module on modifiable risk factors for select non communicable diseases in a rural community”. He has published a considerable number of research papers in the International and National journals based on the research work carried by him. He has provided guidance to a number of undergraduate and post graduate medical students in the conduct of several research studies.
He was instrumental in establishing Primary Geriatric care services at Sai Mandali health center and coordinating the activities since 2007.He has been involved in conceptualizing, coordinating and implementation of Community Orientation Programme (COP) in rural area for undergraduate students for the last 11 years and coordinated the programme thrice in 2009 and Interdisciplinary community based training program in 2015 and 2022. He is a life Member Karnataka association of community health (KACH) and member Indian association of Geriatrics (IAG) Karnataka charter. He has completed his training in competency based medical education and is also a certified Instructor for Comprehensive emergency care and life support under Jeevaraksha trust collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi university of health sciences and University of Utah. He has been awarded the member of National academy of Medical sciences for significant contribution for advancement of medical sciences in 2019.
