Dr. Shaikh Mohammed Aslam S, MD with brilliant academic merit in all the exams is currently working as Professor and Head, Department of General Medicine at Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore. With more than a decade experience, he has distinguished himself as an excellent teacher, researcher, and an administrator of high repute. He is highly dynamic professor dedicated to exemplary patient outcomes and commitment to academic achievement. He is widely recognized for his work in the field of General Medicine, and Geriatrics. He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of Indian College of physicians (FICP) in 2020 in recognition and appreciation for the outstanding contribution towards the Association of physicians of India. In 2020 he was also awarded prestigious Membership of National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in recognition of significant contribution for the advancement of Medical Sciences.
He has a keen interest in patient care, teaching, research, and administration. He has vast clinical experience and dedicates himself immensely for patient care. Apart from routine clinical and teaching responsibilities, he is instrumental in supporting the running of geriatric services of the institution. He oversees the Geriatric OPD, trains students in Geriatric Medicine under PGDGM Program conducted by IGNOU. He is active member of various committees like NAAC, NABH, and Curriculum Committee. He is actively involved with activities of Medical Education Unit of the college. He has been an invited key speaker at several national and international conferences / workshops. He has published many research articles in indexed journals. He is reviewer for various International and national Journals. His main research areas of interest include Geriatrics, critical care, and infectious disease. He has provided guidance to several undergraduate and post graduate medical students in conducting research studies. He has conducted several free camps and Health awareness programs in rural settings.
