A graduate and postgraduate from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Subsequently served in the Armed Forces Medical Services as a medical doctor, radiologist, post graduate teacher and health care administrator for 36 yrs. Served in various Hospitals of the Armed Forces Medical Services and delivered accomplished service as a post graduate teacher, post graduate guide for more than 30 post graduate residents and examiner of various Universities including the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi for the past 24 years. Have published 36 research papers in various national and international journals. Retired from the Indian Army as Asst Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Medical) at HQ Integrated Defence Staff, Govt of India, in the rank of Major General. A proud Indian Army veteran since 30 Nov 2021.

- Awarded Om Satya Mehra Trust award in 2001 for best scientific paper and research work.
- Awarded Fellowship of the International Medical Sciences Academy in 2004.
- Awarded Late Lt Gen RS Hoon award for best paper in cardiac sciences for the years 2004 and 2005.
- Co–recipient of Late Maj Gen NG Lately award for best published article in cardiac sciences for the year 2005.
- Awarded Commendation by the Chief of the Air Staff on 08 Oct 2013.
