
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The department of OBG established in the year, 1979, has been providing high quality patient care in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
The department is highly appreciated for its emergency and high risk Obstetric care services, not to mention services provided in the fields of prenatal diagnostics including amniocentesis, genetic work up and genetic counselling.
All-round gynaecological services are also provided including Infertility work up and care,
Adolescent gynaecology services including emergency care, POCSO services{Collaborative Child Response Unit (CCRU)} dedicated comprehensive Abortion care services, Peri menopausal and post-menopausal care. Oncology services including preventive oncology care is provided in consultation with Medical and surgical Oncology and radiation oncology departments and many camps are held for the benefit of students and patients.

The department focuses on equal importance in imparting quality health education and experience for the upcoming medical students and post graduates to nourish their all-round development including forming a firm basis of their medical attitude and ethics development in addition to skills development.
All the faculty and students are provided adequate opportunities to do research in the field of interest. Student exchange programmes are in place with foreign universities like, Ghent and Groningen universities

Maternal intensive Care Unit
- Our hospital has been the referral centre for many governmental (CGHS) and private institutions (companies and Nursing homes) and dept treats all kind of obstetrics complications and emergencies .The department staff have extensive experience in management of Eclampsia and coagulopathies in pregnancy(with the support of Blood bank facilities available 24X7).
Materno-Fetal Medicine
- Prenatal diagnosis (affiliated to Genetics department), State of the art Antenatal care, postnatal exercises, level III ultrasound and fetal surveillance with Doppler.
- Screening, counselling and management of HIV and HBsAg positive mothers.
- Painless labour (epidural) and programmed labour
- Management of preterm labour and care of the premature new-born supported with modern technology.
Management Of High Risk Pregnancies & Pregnancy
Multi-disciplinary approach for all medical disorders complicating pregnancy
