Patient Education & Information
- TrueBeam Radiation Therapy System: precisely delivers the radiation to destroy the tumor cells in the body while minimising the damage to the surrounding healthy tissues. TrueBeam’s advanced imaging facility and treatment models allow the specialists to customise radiation delivery for each cancer site. It synchronises radiation delivery with the imaging and thereby adjusts radiation delivery according to the movement of the patient including breathing. TrueBeam can deliver high dose radiation in a shorter duration and this allows the specialists to shorten the overall treatment duration for the patients.
- Brachytherapy: Also called as internal radiation, wherein the radioactive sources are placed inside the body around the tumor site via a catheter for minutes and removed afterward for couple of sessions. We have Co-60 brachytherapy machine.
- Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT): IORT is used to treat an exposed tumor during cancer surgery. IORT is performed with a treatment unit that delivers a high dose of radiation to a surgically exposed treatment area. Surrounding healthy organs and tissues protected by lead shields or moved out of the radiation field.
