Department of Radio Diagnosis
Department of Radiodiagnosis was started in the Medical College Teaching hospital in the year 1996 October
with one consultant Dr. Srinath and one Radiographer Mr. Israel. We are now a full-fledged department consisting of 16 consultants, 24 supporting staff in the teaching hospital and 23 in the memorial hospital. There is an annual intake of 14 post graduate students for the MD course.
We are proud to say that our department has the state of the art equipment’s for various Imaging Modalities.
Our wide array of machines enable us to perform a diverse range of imaging and procedures which include: Routine Radiography, Procedures under fluoroscopy, Mammography and Sonomammography, Obstetric ultrasonography, ultrasonological assessment of the abdomen and pelvis, various Doppler studies, Cross sectional studies with Computed tomography & Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Looking ahead we aim at acquisition of a fully equipped 3T MRI with all software’s, Digital Radiography, Interventional radiology lab, PET- CT, 32 slice CT for the trauma unit at Memorial Hospital, Multiple fellowships in various sub-specialties & Evolving into an institute of imaging sciences
