The Institute of Urological Disciplines at Ramaiah Hospitals has over the years established itself as one of the top urological institutes in the country, both in terms of patient and clinical services as well as training of MCh post graduates.

This has been made possible by the magnanimous support and far-sightedness of the management, who have provided the department with the latest in urological equipment and fostered an atmosphere conducive for post graduate education and cutting edge research. Urology as a surgical specialty is evolving at a rapid rate and is highly technology driven. In this regard we are fortunate to have the best infrastructure and equipment like Thulium and holmium lasers for stones and prostate surgery, digital flexible ureteroscopes, the Da Vinci Surgical Robot, state of the art Urodynamics and Lithotripsy suites to name a few.

The sheer volume of clinical work and hands on surgical exposure have consistently attracted post graduate trainees from all over the country. Currently we have 6 faculty, each of whom have carved a niche for themselves in academic circles and are actively involved in all subspecialties of urology.
