All patients coming for treatment within the scope of services who need inpatient care shall be admitted in to the hospital.
No patient is to be denied admission due to race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin.
All patients requiring admission will be screened by the admitting doctor to decide the urgency, the bed category and necessary examination to establish a provisional diagnosis or valid need for admission based on the scope of services.
The patient would be admitted as per level of care required.
The patient would be admitted only under the concerned unit head. Patient and family shall be explained about the reason for admission. The general consent shall be taken for admission.
If the services are not available with the hospital, the emergency care must be provided to all the patients coming in critical condition (emergency). Only after being stabilized, the patient should be transferred to any other medical facility.
In case of unidentified patients, the patient shall be registered and admitted as Medico-legal case and Medico-legal case policy and procedure shall be followed.
Admissions routine and emergency are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, irrespective of any holidays.
Process
IP Admission shall be done through OPD or through Emergency or NICU Admitting Unit / Unit Head
Faculty shall decide for admission and explain the reason and plan of treatment to the patient and or / Patient relative Admitting Faculty
The order for admission shall be written and signed, named, timed and dated. Admitting Faculty
General consent for Treatment: The AC MRD assistant/Billing assistant should explain the patient/relative regarding the general consent for treatment. The clerk should take the signature of the patient/relative on the consent. MRD assistant/Billing assistant
Check the faculty note for admission MRD assistant/Billing assistant
Enter the Hospital number of the patient to HMIS. MRD assistant/Billing
Print IP details of the patient and hand over it to the patient or patient’s relatives MRD assistant/Billing assistant
Direct the patient to the respective ward or department and the housekeeping shall accompany the patient
